We are sure that Julia Donaldson, creator of characters including the Gruffalo, Stickman and Superworm, will need no introduction to families of young children, and we are beyond excited that she will be doing a storytime and book signing session in Oswestry this summer.
The ladybird who said never a word is back, and for the third title in the series she’s off on a trip in What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday. Lydia Monks, whose bright and beautiful illustrations feature in all the Ladybird books plus others such as Sharing a Shell and The Rhyming Rabbit, will also be at the event.
The event will include a storytime hosted by Julia and Lydia, in which they will bring What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday to life as she sets off on her latest adventure, followed by book signing.
Tickets cost £15 for an adult and child, which includes a signed hardback copy of What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday, and £7 for any additional tickets, which include a signed paperback backlist title by Julia and Lydia. Only books ordered as part of the event will be signed on the day.
The event takes place at The Marches School, Morda Road, Oswestry SY11 2AR on Saturday 1st July from 10 am to 12 noon (doors open at 9.30 am). Tickets can be purchased directly from Booka Bookshop, 26-28 Church Street, Oswestry SY11 or online by clicking here (booking fee applies). If you are unable to attend, you can also reserve a signed copy of the book by contacting the bookshop directly. Click here for more information.
